About Us

Brian Deyo
is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He is a veteran of numerous Broadway national tour orchestras, and has backed up such major stars as Bob Hope, Glen Campbell, The Drifters, Neil Sedaka, Bernadette Peters, Regis Philbin, Petula Clarke, and many others.

BD delights in arranging both traditional and unusual music for the Newburg Trio (violin, guitar, and 'cello) and Duo ('cello and guitar), and has also written band and orchestra arrangements for the Lakota and CHCA schools.

He appears on three of the Kentucky Symphony's CD releases, mostly notably (pun intended) the Floodwall Jazz Quintet live at the Xavier University Jazz Series.  He is also a contributer to 2010's "Ring! A Cincinnati Guitar Christmas for Public Radio" CD- a disc which- despite its rather exclusive availability- has 'sold out' its entire first run; and also "Ring II" - the sequel CD available through Cincinnati area public radio stations.

Brian has performed with the Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic, Kentucky Symphony, The York (England) Early Music Festival, and many, many weddings, receptions, and corporate events.

THE NEWBURG TRIO

The Newburg trio was founded in 1994, to perform eclectic, yet elegant chamber music, most of it arranged for the group by it’s peripatetic guitarist.

The group’s repertoire includes the most popular wedding selections (from very traditional Church or Synagogue ceremony music, to more contemporary, non-traditional pieces), fine Classical Chamber Music, and a variety of popular and jazz standards.

The group has performed at many weddings, tennis tournament brunches, regional concerts, and Bar Association luncheons. The trio has also performed in Music Hall lobby and at WGUC studios prior to CSO concerts; and on Fountain Square, presented by WGUC.
